Starwatch: Prepare for a parade of planets
18.07.11
From dusk to dawn this week in Rochester, you have a chance to see our companion planets in the
solar system. Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Venus are all very easy to find, even with the naked eye.
The two planets you want to
watch the early evening are Mercury and Saturn. You actually start to look very low in the sky west-northwest of mercury by the end of evening twilight. It will be just over the horizon, so you must be in a high place with a flat, treeless horizon to see it.
