Cougars earn Scholar-Athlete prices

The Mountain West Conference announced its 2011 Scholar Athletes Tuesday, which included 110 student-athletes from BYU. The MWC Scholar Award recognizes the achievements of top athletes in the classroom during the 2010-11 season.

Athletes who received the accolade had at least an average 3.5 years and was involved in a sport sponsored by the NCAA at the university level.

Thirty-nine athletes from men's and women's teams followed were honored, with 14 cross-country. The swim team and diving and football had been 15 11.Total other sports were swimming and diving 15, soccer six years, five men's volleyball, baseball, four, women's basketball, softball and volleyball women's three, women golf, gymnastics and two women's tennis and men's basketball one.
